Get to Know Hugo and His Fellow Red-Winged Blackbird Friends

Updated: Oct 27

Here's all the cool scoop on Hugo and his fellow Red-winged Blackbirds...

Red-winged Blackbirds are very bold and can be found singing their nasal-sounding songs from coast to coast, across the United States.

The red shoulder patch of the males remain hidden, most of the time, but is on brilliant display when they're singing.

They love to hang out in woods, hayfields, and on farms.

Check out this fun site where you can listen to their songs and sounds:

Enjoy! ~~ Sharon

P.S. And yes, for those teachers who have asked me, I'll soon have lots of fabulous downloadable and printable tools you can use in your classrooms, along with Hugo's book! Stay-tuned!!! They'll be available right here on my website!
